Carmen holds a B.A. in Psychology from Biola University, an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University and is currently pursuing dual licensure as an LMFT and LPC.

Carmen desires to provide holistic care that heals, encourages, and strengthens all areas including mind, body, emotions, relationships, and spiritual issues. She seeks to provide a collaborative space where clients can feel heard, honored and respected. Carmen values clients' choices in their counseling journey while also personally holding a biblical worldview.

Carmen was raised in Germany as a missionary kid and as an adult has lived overseas in both Central and Southeast Asia as well as various parts of the United States with her family. Carmen’s experiences with varied cultures have allowed her to appreciate the uniqueness of each individual and family, and she aspires to provide genuine, culturally sensitive care in a warm, supportive environment.

Carmen provides Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective method for treating a wide variety of traumatic experiences. In addition, Carmen has received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is based on attachment theory and encourages and strengthens healthy emotional engagement and interpersonal relationships.

Carmen has been married to her husband, David, since 1999, and they have five children ranging in age from pre-teen to young adult. Carmen valued her time overseas and loves to travel when possible. She enjoys spending time with family and in nature, reading books, swimming, and dancing.
