Abbey is a native Texan who received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and shortly thereafter completed her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University. Abbey is licensed as an LMFT in the state of Virginia, as well as North Carolina.
Abbey believes every client has a story to share and desires to assist others in their healing journey, wherever they may find themselves. Her desire is to meet each client where they are and come alongside them using a collaborative approach.
Abbey has been working in the mental health field since 2019 and has experience working with adults of all life-stages, as well as couples and adolescents. Whether you find yourself in distress, desire to gain skills for greater emotional wellness, or are desiring to have healthier relationships, Abbey believes in using a variety of evidence-based approaches to best meet her client’s needs.
Abbey is clinically trained in Level 1 Gottman Couple’s Therapy and PREPARE/ENRICH, and is currently undergoing training in Emotionally-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). Along with her clinical training, Abbey uses integrated concepts from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Psycho-dynamic theory, Attachment theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic-Based therapy. When she isn’t meeting with clients, Abbey enjoys catching up on her favorite tv shows, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with her Goldendoodle, Winston.
