Clinical Focus: Childhood Trauma, Attachment, Blended Families, Life Transitions, Couples, Adolescents

Abbey completed her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University and is pursuing licensure to become a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT). Abbey also has a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.

Abbey believes every client has a story to share and desires to assist others in their healing journey, wherever they may find themselves. Her desire is to meet each client where they are and come alongside them using a collaborative approach. While working on her licensure, Abbey has gained experience using Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) with adopted families, as well as children affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD).

Abbey enjoys using various approaches to help clients feel safe and known in therapy as they navigate life transitions and struggles. In order to ensure long-term growth outside of therapy, Abbey believes it is vital to help clients learn healthy coping skills, such as becoming more in tune with their own bodies and environment.

In the counseling room, Abbey utilizes several modalities which include, Emotion- Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Somatic-Based Therapy. In her work with couples, Abbey is PREPARE/ENRICH and Gottman- Level 1 certified.

When she isn’t meeting with clients, Abbey enjoys catching up on her favorite tv shows, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with her Goldendoodle, Winston.
