Ken Sharpe, M.A., M.Div.
Clinical Focus: Anxiety, Depression, Life Transitions, Spiritual Issues, Veterans and First Responders
Ken has an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Resident in Counseling. He formerly worked as a United States Army Chaplain for 20 years. Ken was deployed as an Army Chaplain twice to Iraq and Afghanistan, provided religious support and pastoral care to hundreds of military personnel and their families. He has considered it a blessing to walk alongside clients in their struggles and helping them to discover their authentic self.
Ken has assisted clients dealing with anxiety, depression, and addictions often associated with trauma. He uses a person-centered and existential approach with clients to assist the client in deepening a greater self-awareness and help them find meaning and purpose in the suffering and adversity that we often encounter in our humanity. He believes that fostering a safe environment and building trust and a therapeutic alliance with clients is key to the healing process.
Ken has been married to his wife Susan since 1993 and is the proud father of two amazing young adult children. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, hiking, kayaking, and fishing. Additionally, you might find him outside enjoying his Oklahoma Joe’s smoker, gardening, or just relaxing while reading an enjoyable book.
